About Perth >
Perth City Centre is located alongside the peaceful waters of the Swan River, twenty kilometres inland of the Indian Ocean on the West Coast of Australia. The site was originally a safe inland position during colonial times, while the river provided an excellent means for transporting supplies from the coastal port to the fledgling colony.

Much of Perth was originally built using convict labour, and this can still be seen today in some of Perth's remaining historic buildings. These days however, the river and surrounding area provides a scenic outlook for the city of Perth as well as a place for recreational activities.

Perth has a number of locations which jump into life, especially at the weekends. Just outside the Perth city centre is the Perth district of Northbridge where you will find a range of nightclubs, pubs, cafes and eateries, offering an eclectic mix of cultures and cuisines. Meanwhile, south of Perth in Fremantle things are jumping at the local nightclubs and bars. If you are looking for the Perth nightlife, you are sure to find it at one of these locations.

About Fremantle >
Fremantle is located in the south west corner of Australia. It is bounded on two sides by the Indian Ocean and the Swan River and is Western Australia's major commercial port. Known locally as "Freo", it is approximately 25 kilometres south of Perth, and has long been known as Western Australia's second city.

Fremantle was established in 1829 as a port for the fledgling Swan River Colony and was the major city in Western Australia for much of its early history. It was the first port of call in Australia for many migrants and visitors. Over time, with the ability to travel by plane, Fremantle was overlooked as a destination to visit. However, it became the centre of the world's attention during the Australian defence of the America's Cup in 1987, and today Fremantle sustains a rich mixture of cultures and nationalities.
